Rockingham County was created in 1778 from Augusta County, VA. It was later divided to created Page County, VA and Pendleton County, WV. Many of its early settlers came from Maryland and Pennsylvania. Because of its geographical position, thousands of persons migrated through and into the county heading west to Kentucky and Tennessee. This book contains an alphabetical listing of marriage records for the years 1778-1816.
