Here is a new valuable research tool on Upper South Carolina. Located in the Northwestern part of the state, Pickens County was carved out of the Infamous "Pendleton District" in the year 1828. It is surrounded by the present-day counties of Anderson, Greenville, Oconee Counties, S.C. and on the North by Transylvania County, N.C. Even though this book contains the abstracts from a very specific time frame, there will be references to many persons from earlier times or dates.
