Johnson County was created in 1834 from Lafayette County. It is located on the western side of the state with the Santa Fe Trail passing right through it. This area of Missouri saw its fair share of pioneer settlers coming from the East in search of new lands and prosperity. Many of whom came from AL, CT, GA, IL, IN, KY, MA, MD, MO, NC, NY, OH, PA, RI, SC, TN, VA, WV, along with the countries of England, Germany, Ireland, Prussia, Scotland & Switzerland.
