It lies in the extreme western portion of the state along the Ohio State line. Settlers started arriving around 1785 and were almost exclusively Scotch-Irish Presbyterians. The second is a biographical sketch section of approximately 1,010 persons with a New Index that was produced for this reprint which mentions approximately 26,000 persons.
