Kent County was created in 1683 and is located in the central portion of the state.  Immigrants from England stated settling this region of the St. John’s River about 1670. Probate records are a wonderful source of genealogical information and are a standard research tool of the family historian.  Information to be found within this book: Name of the deceased, the type of document whether it is a will or administration, date of probate, names of heirs, executors, administrators & witnesses, and folio number which will lead the reader to the location of the actual document within the Archives.
