Williamson County, Tennessee Newspaper Excerpts, 1822-1835

Williamson County was formed in 1799 from Davidson County, and until 1804 it extended to the Alabama line. Later counties cut out of this original Williamson County were: Bedford, Lincoln, Marshall, Maury, Rutherford, and Giles. Tennessee did not officially start keeping vital statistics until 1902. This can make finding them difficult. The author has recovered these abstracts from various newspapers in the area. Data to be found within: an assortment of advertisements containing names and occupations of persons within the county, items of lost and found, land sales, marriages, obituaries, court orders, information related to slaves and other items of genealogical interest.
