counties cut out of this original Williamson County were: Bedford, Lincoln, Marshall, Maury, Rutherford, and Giles. Tennessee did not officially start keeping vital statistics until 1902. This can make finding them difficult. The author has divided this book into four sections. The first section are deaths recorded in the courthouse, 1881-1882. The next three sections are deaths recorded from microfilm of the vital statistic records and funeral director’s ledgers 1902-1913. 1914-1926 and 1909-1926. Data to be gleaned from this book are name of deceased, death certificate number, birth date, death date, marital status, mother’s name, father’s name, cause of death, cemetery, location of burial and other tidbits of informatin.
