These eight counties are located in the southeastern corner of the state bordering the Ohio River directly across from Kentucky. These counties saw large numbers of migration due to the ease of river navigation by early settlers heading West. Harrison and Clark were two of the first counties of Indiana of which the six counties inn this book were carved from. This book is similar to books by Goodspeed Publishing Company. The book is divided into two sections. The first section is a through and detailed history of the county along with her townships. The second section is devoted to the family historian or genealogists. Here the readed will discover biographical sketches of 422 individuals. The two Index’s that was completed for this reprint mentions approximately 9,500 persons.
