Massachusetts Volunteer Militia

Just before the War of 1812 ended, the Governor of Massachusetts called the militia into a state of readiness, anticipating a British invasion. The book is divided into two sections: the first focuses on the various militia groups serving within Massachusetts, while the second covers militia groups serving in the state of Maine. The author lists every person who served in the conflict. The book’s main body is organized by state, then by militia company, with each entry including the company captain’s name, the names and ranks of all who served under him, as well as the company’s service dates and place of organization, and duty station.
