By Albert Bruce Pruitt, published in 2014 and reprinted in 2026, this 332-page softcover book (8 1/2″ x 11″, with index, ISBN #978-1-63914-234-0) covers Lincoln County, which was formed in 1779 from Tryon and Burke Counties. It features abstracts of warrants and surveys preserved in shucks (files). Each survey includes the name of the new landowner and acreage, an abstract of the warrant with its number and date, the survey date and surveyor along with a summary of the survey description and names of chain carriers, and the grant number and date, noting whether the fee was paid to the State.
