By: Gustave Anjou, Pub. 1911, reprinted 2025, 248 pages, Index, soft cover, ISBN #978-1-63914-661-1.  This consolidated volume consists of verbatim abstracts of wills, letters of administration, bonds of administrators, renunciations, and inventories from 1663 to 1766, 1792, and 1827 housed in the county Clerk’s Office and the Surrogate’s Office in Kingston and various other public and private repositories–most of them translated from Dutch originals. Each abstract gives the name of the testator, the date of the will, the names of all persons mentioned in the will with their relationship to the testator, and the date the will was proved. At the conclusion of each will, the genealogist will find genealogical notes on the testator extending forward, in most cases, for two generations and giving sources. For the researcher’s ease of use, Mr. Anjou has provided both a full-name index and a separate index of instruments, with names of testators, date of issue, and date of probate.
